Brief reviews of Lady Grace, Extra Emphasis, Decent Exposures, Cameo Intimates, Trevas, Bust Stop, Bras Direct UK, One Hanes Place, The Orchard Corset Center, Body Line, Secrets in Lace, Euro Mode Lingerie, Frishman's Intimate Apparel, Maple Drive, Bravissimo, Xelle (Worthing) Ltd., The Creative Woman (Wizard of Bras).

Lady Grace is a local Boston area store that rocks my large bosomed world. They carry a wide variety of brands in their stores and through their catalog. If you live anywhere near one of their retail locations, I strongly reccomend stopping in. The one in Brookline is the best. Make sure to get one of the older women to help fit you.

Extra Emphasis Another catalog which carries a wide variety of large cup size bras. They seem to have the widest variety of attractive large bras. They do not have a retail location.

Decent Exposures custom makes bras in any cup size/band width combo in a variety of materials. These bras aren't particularly sexy, nor do they make your breasts perky, but they are incredibly comfortable. Also, the people who take your order are really helpful and nice. This is a company full of clothing designed by women, for women. Everything is comfy, though not very fashionable. The bras come in four kinds of material. Cotton (hah!), lycra, lined lycra (like a sports bra) and velour (yep, velour. quite supportive but warm). The bras also come in two styles, regular and racer back. The racer back came up quite high on my neck (the straps showed under many tops), but it seemed to be the most comfortable and supportive. Some people really dislike them because of the lack of support, if your breasts are heavy these probably won't cut it and may make your back hurt.

Cameo Intimates makes really slutty bras. Their signature bras have cut outs so your nipples show through clothing. Personally, I don't want my nipples to stick out under my clothes, but to each her own nipplage. They do make bras up to an H cup. For the covered look, they have one style which is full coverage, and they have a cute looking demibra. Also, they're Canadian, so there you go. The weak Canadian dollar makes these bras cheaper.

Trevas also has large bras. However, the styles run heavily towards the ugly architectural monstrosities which are the bane of my life. These bad boys support, but they also show under v-neck shirts making it impossible to show off your clevage. Also, their slogan is "If large breasts are your problem," which I think is a little negative. Yes, large breasts can be a problem (itching, rashes, rearranging them while you sleep, etc), but that's mostly due to the problems with finding good bras. The bra companies are the problem, not breasts. Anyway, they also have a retail store in Colorado so if you're in the area check them out.

The Bust Stop another catalog with large bras. Not all their merchandise is in their online catalog, but they have a phone number you can call for more information and presumably a catalog.

Bras Direct U.K. has pretty bras (they have a cherry red satin bra in a 38FF!!!) in a wide variety of styles and cup sizes up to a G. Their online ordering is great, and you can have a virtual shop girl search for all the bras they have in your size. However, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The customer services reps are friendly (and have cute British accents), but not very knowledgeable about the web site. Also, they aren't allowed to call you back if you live outside of the U.K., so you have to call them, or send them e-mail which they may or may not reply to. I placed an order for 2 bras with them in mid august. 3 weeks later, one of my bras arrived. I was told the other was on back order for a week. Later, I was told twice it was on back order but would go out in the next 3 days. I finally got the bra over 2 months later. Grrr. I hate being repeatedly lied to like that.

One Hanes Place sells discounted bras including Champion jog bras up to a DD (which will fit if you go up in the band). The Champion jog bra is what allows me to work out without experience the horrors of underbreast rash, or the pain of bouncing breasts. OHP also sells Glamorise bras which go up to a G, Bali bras, Playtex, wonderbras (like we need them), and other brands as they come in. I ordered, online, a Glamorise bra in a 38G. It made my breasts noticably more perky and supported, which is great. However they have stupid underwire which makes what looks like there are two little antennae poking out between your breasts. I tried shoving the underwires around and stitching them in place, no dice. I ended up dumping the bra on ebay. OHP. This is a great place to shop if you have a large band size, and/or a cup size below DDD. Their selection varies wildly, so you have to check regularly.

The Orchard Corset Center is an interesting store. It doesn't actually sell corsets any more, but both the name and the interior of the store harken back to an earlier time of serious foundation garments. The store front is a small window in the middle of what used to the heavily Jewish Lower East Side in New York City. When I walked in I felt like I had been dropped back to the first half of the century. All the stock is behind the counter in cubby holes, and the display posters have more to do with missle tits and girdles than fancy panties. The store owner is a large Hasidic Jew, who managed to help me try on bras without actually touching me. He also eyeballed my band size perfectly. After chatting for a little bit, he gave me three bras to try on. I went into the back stock area, accompanied by his wife and daugther. A curtained area was my changing room. The wife conveyed to her husband how the bras fit and made my breasts look, and he passed others to her. I bought the bra that fits me perfectly (Vanity Fair Satin Fantasy w/out the strings between the cups; this bra is, of course, discontinued), and a cute patterned *velvet* bra which gave my breasts are more "European" shape (less round, more tear drop like). I highly reccomend this store.

The Body Line sells bras which are "the ultimate in health, beauty and comfort." They claim their bras will keep your breasts healthy and strong. I'm not sure how, but there you go. Their web page says you can get them in 200 sizes, but doesn't really explain further.

Secrets in Lace is a really elegant web site with pretty stuff. They carry attractive bras through a 42DDD, along with larger garter belts, stockings, teddies, etc. This web site screams "swanky", and that's a good thing. The store also sells lovely romantic slips, stockings, and huge poofy petticoats. They also have a retail location in NYC, whic is probably worth checking out.

Euro Mode Lingerie carries French bras up to a 40FF, and they claim higher but I can't find them in their poorly organized catalog. I also can't find any information about their return policy, where they are located, etc. Not great, but if you pay with credit card you can always dispute charges. Anyway, these bras really pretty. Really really pretty. They're also really expensive ($60-$100), which is a bit much for bras you can't even try on. Their prices seem higher than other stores for the same merchandise. I can't reccomend it.

Frishman's Intimate Apparel is another kick ass bra store from New York City. They have one of those convertible bras in an F cup. I, for one, am thrilled. They also have lots of other bras, girdles, and "novelty bottoms." They are trans friendly, and welcom cross dressers. Frishman's is an odd combination of old lady bra store, and TG/CS store. Fairly basic when it comes to bras, but they also have other foundation garments worth checking out if you're a DDD.

Maple Drive is an oddly named European lingerie company with a lovely web page. You can search by size, brand, etc. They carry up to a 46H, and they have a velvet push up bra that goes up to a G cup! I'm not sure why they think at that cup size you need help making your breasts noticable, but whatever. Maple Drive is based in England, and offers a flat shipping rate (2 UK pounds) anywhere in the world. That works out to about $3.50 USD woo woo!

I recently ordered from them and things went pretty well. They e-mail you when your order leaves the warehouse, which is very nice. My order ended up coming in 3 seperate packages, which was kind of annoying, but I did like coming home to nice new bras. The only problem is returns are difficult. I wore a bra for a few hours and realized it didn't quite fit (for some ungodly reason, it had insanely long shoulder straps), but they don't accept returns or exchanges if you've worn the item at all. *sigh* Someone I know online, however, has sucessfully managed to exchange an item that was sent to her incorrectly, so that's good.

Bravissimo is another UK company that sells beautiful bras online. Why is it that only the brits have figured out women with large breasts like pretty bras? I haven't ordered from them, but those bras are mighty purty.

Xelle (Worthing) Ltd is a little bra company in the UK. They sell bras in the always annoying to buy for combination of big cup size, with small band size. They carry through a 36G. They don't take credit cards, but they will take checks in US funds (or probably an international money order).

Creative Woman-The Wizard of Bras is the name/occupation of a bra store in Southern California. They have a 'Bra Wizard' you can e-mail and ask questions about what bra will fit. Their catalog is OK. It's not terribly clear when there is an extra page of merchandise to look at. However, they do carry some nice looking stuff up to a GG. The one problem is price. Oy. There are a few for under $40, but the prices go up to $105 for a lovely lacey bra. Ah well. They do carry Fantasie of England, which is a fave of mine.
